On a sudden impulse, I chose to ditch office this morning and had this strong urge to go on a long drive. This meant all of us running around the house like headless chicken until we hit the road. Lepakshi it was, our destination – the one I had been dreaming of visiting ever since our trip to Belur and Halebid. With our car moving only an inch for every five minutes, it seemed pretty long a drive until we reached the highways. After that, every bit was scenic with hills and different crop fields around.

We crossed some hills –

We saw some harvest –

And saw this huge Basavanna –

Some pretty flowers in the park around-

And a chicken family too –

Found this cute little puppy, which posed for my camera –

And then finally reached this 16th Century Temple which was huge! I only wish this historic treasure was maintained with a little more care.

Now this is what I call a day best spent! 🙂

    • Sure its perfect for a day trip from B’lore. We started only around 10 in the morning and were back by 5.30 in the evening. Its only 132Kms from B’lore. If you love historical places, you will love this one too!

  1. Is this in Andhra, GB? I remember visiting a place like this near Hindupur in Andhra before. I remember because I have a picture of me sitting before that big snake and siva lingam. 🙂
